In May of 2013, the Bloomington Board of Realtors established the REALTOR® Fund with both the Community Foundation of Bloomington and the Owen County Community Foundation. In 2017 The REALTOR® Fund was established with the Greene County Foundation. This is a permanent commitment by REALTORS® to provide charitable support to the communities in which they work and live. The Bloomington Board of REALTORS are able to stay connected to support their primary concerns involving housing, health, safety, and beautification projects while allowing community giving specialists at these three Foundations to manage and maximize the return on their investments.

Each year the endowed funds at these three Community Foundations will generate a sum of money or distributions that can be used to support charitable needs within these communities. By endowing the funds and using only the earnings on the fund for charitable giving, the REALTORS® have given a gift that will continue to create additional gifts to the community for years to come. Since 2018, the Bloomington Board of Realtors has hosted an annual Golf Scramble to raise funds for the REALTOR® Funds in these three counties. Grants are generally within the range of $100 – $1,000.

Local charities and non-profits from all three counties are eligible to apply for community grants throughout the year. BBOR’s Community Giving Committee meets in early fall to review applications and make decisions on disbursement amounts to be given out annually in late September or early October.
